curating ..... continued

I have decided to use the first curating optioin i was thinking of. These 2 photos show the position I am hapy with. The figures withthe heads dissapearing off the canvas will still be hung higher than the others while the other 2 will be lower so that you can almost see yourself as them - a mirror.

This is the work now hung on the walls. I dilibarated with having mirror plates as this would make the work rest fully flat againt the wall but i felt the work would be better presented using nails and plaster plugs to hang it, leaving the edges free of the mirror plates. John helped me to do this and it works really well i feel. To finish the space off, we just need to do the name transfers onto the wall with the transfer sheets we went and brought from staples today. I'm also going to have the phrases next to the work.
In the first photo left to right I will name them: "Where's that Brownie?" and "There it is!"

Second photo, left to right: "What's all this?!" and "How did THAT get there?!"

curating.....continued

This is the curating i have come up with currently. it is more dispointed with the other side of the room and the painting of the thighs here will be put higher.

This painting goes opposite the other on the other wall, but i have decided against this. I think it leaves too much negative space.

Curating

This is curating on the other half of the space. I want the same affect on this side with this painting: being higher up and intimidating. I will have the 2 other paintings whos heads stay within the canvas to be lower level than the other 2, this will disjoint the space and bumf the person around the space instead of flowing easily through if they were all on the same level.

These 2 photos are 2 different curating options. I want to have the 2 paintings that have the heads off the canvas to be higher up the wall so that it gives the impressioin of it crowding over the person to be more powerful and intimidating. I am playing with different positions here to work around the piping.

These are photos of the space i am going to be in. There are a few obsticales that need to be worked around like the piping and the boxed section of the wall that takes away wall space. However if i hang the paintings well these shouldn't be negative obsticles.

Titles!!

I have now completed all my paintings for the show, and at the moment, i am pretty sure I want to keep all four paintings to go into the show and (after a chat with Helen who is going to help curate the London Show)I may have two paintings in the London show depending on the space.
Now I need to think about titles for the work, I have completed a small artist statement to go along side the work but as for titles, i'm unsure yet. I could have one title for the whole series but then i thought, it maybe nice to have a kinda small caption for each one that represents the thought of the woman in that pose. My ideas so far are:

"Where did this come from?"
"How did this get here?"
"How will i loose this?"
"Where did that Brownie go?"
"Found it!/That's where it went!"

I don't think 'How will i loose this?'will work very well. It's not as amusing as the other phrases. I think i will go with the other 4 though the 1st 2 are similar so may change one of those. Wen i have arranged my space to suit the paintings i will work out an order that will give the work a flow with the captions.

Completed Painting!!

This is the final painting. It was completed yesturday and i think it is my favourite one of my series yet. Not only because i think the painting is the most improved in this one, but that the message is stronger here. The agression is captured more in this painting.
